Every child is different
Parents (and professionals) sometimes wonder if a child is “doing OK”. It is tempting to compare with a child next door, or a previous child in the family.
The truth is that every child develops differently and at different speeds. There is not a precise timetable. Most of the time, it does not matter if a child says their first word earlier or later – it does not make a difference in the long run.
