The social and emotional world of children becomes much more complicated when they go to nursery. Even children with brothers and sisters will need to get used to being with lots of other children. And it is different when all the kids are their own age.
Some children may have got very skilled at playing and chatting with adults, who are of course very skilled, but find it harder with other children. Sometimes there can be a lack of confidence, or even just not being quite sure how to join in.
Children are also developing quite fast, with new feelings and new words. Most children need a bit of help to understand what is going on.
